First Agape Players day 2

After rehearsals most of the week, a long dress rehearsal on Thursday and Friday's evening performance, that left us getting home near midnight, we were all tired on Saturday morning! The show must go on though so off to co-op we went again for Saturday's matinee performances of The 3 Parrallel Parables (Balloon Party, Good Ol' Sam Martin and The Mysterious Marvel of Midway). Saturdays shows went well, got there in plenty of time for make up, which of course the boys are never thrilled about :-). I had to set up for the after show party, which I was in change of with another drama mama. The matinee went well and I got lots more photos. I didn't get any of the party though since I was setting out food and refilling platters etc. It was all a blur, I didn't even eat! LOL here are some Saturday pictures. Love watching Trevor and Tristan on stage, it's almost as fun as when I used to be in plays myself.

Photos;
Trevor and Tristan after make up, waiting for show time.

Mrs. Marquis giving the actors and actresses a pep talk.

Tristan and other actors waiting for a scene in "Sam Martin" where they come in from the back of the theater.

Tristan, in orange.

Tristan in Balloon Party, his character of New Orange used to pop people's balloons but he has since reformed.

Right before he pops the other orange chanracters balloon. I think tristan enjoyed this part of his role.

You Popped my balloon (10 years ago)!

Yeah, I used to pop ballloons but I don't anymore!

Evferyone has learned to use their gifts and talents and it's a balloon party!

Trevor as a guard in The Mysterious Marvel of Midway. This is a student written play based on The Wizard of OZ.

Tristan and some of the other Junior high students were extras in the high school play. here he is a fan of a famous person.

Trevor's character was rather complex. At first he is with the bad guys, trying to steer Dottie on to the wrong path in life. Later it's revealed that he is actually working for the good guys trying to help her to the right path.

Trevor and Tristan perform in plays day 1

One of the reasons (actually the main reason) we stick with co-op despite the distance and the fact that it doesn't always fit my ideal of the homeschool lifestyle is DRAMA class. The drama teacher, Mrs. Marquis, is wonderful, she manages to hold the attention and respect of a large class of kids and somehow pulls them all together in fantastic end of year shows. Tristan was in a play last year and this year both Trevor and Tristan are in shows. The end of year plays this year were The Balloon Party and Good Ol' Sam Martin for the Junior High and The Mysterious Marvel of Midway for the High School class. Tristan was New Orange in Balloon Party and an extra in both the other plays. Trevor was a dual role of mall guard and security guard in Midway. All the shows were fantastic and the boys did so well. Day 1 went much better than I expected. I saw "than I expected" because the high school play was still blocking and making changes during the dress rehearsal. This student written play did not yet seem a cohesive story even the day before the first show. Speaking of the dress rehearsal, it was LONG, it went on and on and on! The waitingrambling for rides, changing other things on the schedule and juggling to get siblings other places or realise they need to be missed was all worth it when we saw the show the next day.

Tae kwon Do competition

Our guys competed in the area tae kwon do tournament again this year. Over the years everyone in the family except me has trained in Tae kwon Do. At the moment only Bob, Colin and Tristan do.

Colin helped quite a bit by holding boards for young ones and anyone who needed it.

Tristan doing his form/poomse.

Tristan breaking boards. he did well and broke all of the boards he'd set up, 4 or 5.

Colin breaking boards. he did well too, he's still "crazy strong"!

Awrads ceremony. Colin got a Gold and a silver while Tristan recieved a silver and a bronze. They were in the same category for one event.

Colin (in red) Sparring. This was Colin's first year competing in sparring and he did really well!

More from the Tae kwon Do tournament

Someone from Tae Kwon Do took pictures of the kids and gave them to me. They're better than the pictures I took so worth another post.
