One of the reasons (actually the main reason) we stick with co-op despite the distance and the fact that it doesn't always fit my ideal of the homeschool lifestyle is DRAMA class. The drama teacher, Mrs. Marquis, is wonderful, she manages to hold the attention and respect of a large class of kids and somehow pulls them all together in fantastic end of year shows. Tristan was in a play last year and this year both Trevor and Tristan are in shows. The end of year plays this year were The Balloon Party and Good Ol' Sam Martin for the Junior High and The Mysterious Marvel of Midway for the High School class. Tristan was New Orange in Balloon Party and an extra in both the other plays. Trevor was a dual role of mall guard and security guard in Midway. All the shows were fantastic and the boys did so well. Day 1 went much better than I expected. I saw "than I expected" because the high school play was still blocking and making changes during the dress rehearsal. This student written play did not yet seem a cohesive story even the day before the first show. Speaking of the dress rehearsal, it was LONG, it went on and on and on! The waitingrambling for rides, changing other things on the schedule and juggling to get siblings other places or realise they need to be missed was all worth it when we saw the show the next day.
