November

November is not yet over and here I am blogging about it, PROGRESS! After this post I am officially caught up. Looking at my calendar it appear that November is very even. 15 busy, out of the house days and 15 days in. of course the month isn't over yet so who know show that will go.

In November we went to Strawberry Banke- which is a historical neighborhood o the idea of Plimoth Plantation, but smaller. We learned about the history of Thanksgiving there and also how some other cultures celebrate holidays. We went to the beach in November! We also started survival skills type classes for the boys (and the rest of us too) with a couple other scout/homeschool families. Rudy, an older retired scout leader gives these classes and they are terrific. We have learned more about maps and compass reading, making ancient slings to fling stones, starting fire with flint and steel and cooking over a fire.

In addition the boys had a compass course with scouts and did well there. Also for scouts we participated in a Pet show with our homeschool-boy scouts club. This helped with a requirement for the pets badge. Additionally with scouts the boys went to Boston for a day trip.

We had a tour of the blue seal factory and learned how some animal grains are produced. went apple picking again, visited a Blacksmith shop, went to a Ski sale to get ready for the upcoming ski season, also the Oktoberfest in November event after the ski sale. The kids attended their regular classes and we saw a show called JIGU! Thunder drums of China and even went to the Pizza hut buffet after the show. Even healthy Moms can let loose with the kids diet occasionally (plus they begged!!) Finally I was re-hired for my ski season job.

I'm always behind in my blogging! LOVE the saying in your top right side bar which describes your new blog. I hadn't noticed it before... the 123/xyz replaced with DNA and algebra (LOL)... FUNNY!
