newspaper rolled, a spoon, tape and a rubber band is all it takes to make this catapult.
The dogs kept stealing the ammo, well it was edible ammo.
Bobby mentioned he had to go to town for something and as it's a long-ish drive to the nearest main shops we try to combine trips. I knew we needed material for the kids Thanksgiving event costumes so we went along to go to the fabric store. On the way home we saw a sign just like this on the highway, about 20 minutes from home. We drove a couple miles and came across nothing so stopped worrying about emergencies ahead. Well then we suddenly saw rescue vehicles, police and a big old detour.

The detour took us off the highway and down a long country road. We noticed foliage already turning.
and had a good view of Pat's Peak, one of the ski areas we ski at in winter.
We really didn't know what emergency had occur ed since we couldn't see anything and the detour was long, slow and well quite frustrating. When we arrived home I logged on to our State's news station and saw the breaking news that there was a multi vehicle collision and they needed to clear the highway to land a med flight helicopter from Boston. There were a few photos and the cars involved looked very bad. It might have been frustrating to be detoured, having 30 more minutes added to our trip but at least we were safe. I couldn't get the thought out of my head that if we had gone home 15 or 20 minutes sooner we might have been in the crash. very scary.
Thankfully life goes on here and we all soon forget the detour that caused some grumbling. Kids got back to playing and working on their Native American costumes.
I think Tristan took this picture, he was playing with his Bionicles, which are one of his very favorite things in life.
