Just another September week

We are well underway with our fall routine now. Things are going well so far this year. We learned more about the United Kingdon in world geography this week, concentrated on Canines in Zoology and did the next thing in the three R's. Spent lots of time outdoors both wandering in the woods and watching the beach slowly return as water levels finally start to recede down at the lake. The boys had a court of honor at scouts, Tristan has pulled ahead in the merit badge ranks having earned 4 this time to Colin's 2. Colin was ahead by one before so now Tristan is ahead by one. We noticed a chill in the air this week and woke to frost a couple mornings. Hopefully the warmer temperatures will return for a while, not ready for freezing!

a walk in the woods:

Looks like Freeze has Hayley all tied up!

Tristan earned merit badges for Art, Leatherwork, Wood carving and Stamp Collecting:

Colin earned badges for Stamp Collecting and Leatherworking:

Nick, the tallest scout and Tristan one of the shortest both earned wood carving at summer camp:

We did an experiment to test our senses for zoology, are these both lemon pudding...or not? They are but nobody guessed it, guess our senses aren't as good as our canine counterparts:

Comet helps Tristan with his work:

Colin finds that he doesn't hate cursive writing after all:

I don't actually know what hayley is doing here but I'm sure it's something quite studious:

Tristan seems exasperated, help him with that answer Comet!

A little beach is back at the start of the week:

The dogs always seem to want to clamber up onto large rocks on our walks:

Bonkers doesn't usualy do anything so energetic but she clambered up a big rock herself for a change! Tristan was so amazed he grabbed my camera while I made sure that 13 yo Bonkers didn't fall off the rock:
At thr end of the week Comet turns 20 weeks old and about 1/3 of the beach is no longer underwater:

Hayley and Tristan try to get the dogs to push and pull them on the swings:
